Improving Fine Motor Skills
We all know that playdough is super fun, but it’s also great for improving fine motor skills. As your toddlers roll and pinch the dough, they will gain hand strength, fine motor coordination, and hand-eye coordination. Plus, playdough is a calming activity that also sparks creativity. You and your kiddos will love it.

Grab Your Playdough and Start the Creativity
Why do l love playdough? First, even the youngest child can play with it. My kiddos were squishing playdough when they were toddlers, just 18 months old. Second, it’s so inexpensive, you can even make your own at home. There are tons of homemade playdough recipes out there.
These playdough mats are a fun place to start playing and talking.
Free Playdough Mats
Use the playdough mats again and again. Here are some options. You can print them on white paper or cardstock, but just know that cardstock will make the mats more sturdy if you put the playdough directly on it.
Better yet, if you can laminate the mats, you can use them over and over. If you don’t have a laminator, consider covering the mats with packing tape. A few strips should do the trick.
You can also tuck the printed mat into a gallon storage bag. Or use sheet protectors to make the mats easier to use.
Use You Imagination
You don’t have to use just playdoh. You can add pom-poms, confetti, buttons, pipe-cleaners or whatever you want.
The name of each item is also written on the mat. They’re great to laminate and use dry erase markers. This way, older children can practice tracing and writing the words of each Christmas item.

The Christmas theme is great for your preschoolers and kindergarteners. The mats make an easy first day of school activity.
