Step #1: Get The Free Printable Handprint Craft PDF
The Free PDF includes two handprint templates. A card version and a full page version. Choose which template you will use and print enough for each child.

Step #2: Get out the paint
Put out washable paints in colors that represent Christmas lights: Red, Green, Orange, Yellow and Blue . You can put a little of each color on a paper plate and talk to your child about finger-painting.
Remember to have some water or wipes nearby in case things get messy.

Step #3: Press your child’s finger onto the template
Make sure to lay the template on a flat surface and help by pressing your child’s fingertips onto the paper. Here’s the secret to getting a good fingerprint – Lift your child’s finger, straight up – this way fingers aren’t moving or sliding.
You’ll want to put a lot of different color fingerprints on the string of lights. Each light strand has a place to add a fingerprint. the fingerprint becomes the bulb.

And you’re finished
This is a great Christmas activity for kindergarteners and preschoolers or just for fun. Use this craft for Classroom Christmas Party, Christmas Art, Holiday Fun and more.
