Are you ready for a fun summer craft? You can cut out all of the ice cream craft shapes and your little ones will enjoy gluing and following directions. Or you can guide your children through the craft so they can work on scissor skills.
Either way, this is a great craft for working on fine motor skills and following directions.
Turn this craft into a fun way to learn. Write a word on a cone and have children find the matching letters on the scoops. Write a color on the cone and match the correct scoop color. Add numbers to the cones and have the children add that number of scoops. or give the children a number and have them count the scoops to match their number. Here’s What You Need for this Ice Cream Cone Craft

- Free Ice Cream Craft Template <— Get it Here
- colored copy paper, colored cardstock, or construction paper
- scissors
- stapler
- glue sticks
- colored pencils, crayons, or markers (if you want to draw on your craft)

Step 1: Download and Print the Free Ice Cream Craft Template
Download the Free Printable Template. You will be stapling the template to sheets of colored paper to cut out the shapes.
Step 2: Staple and Cut Out the Craft Shapes
Once you have the ice cream craft templates printed out, staple them to construction paper and cut out the shapes you need.
You can use different colored paper for the different flavors of ice cream: green for mint, pink for strawberry, let your little ones go crazy with creativity. If you want chocolate you may want two different colors of brown. One for the cone and one for the ice cream.,
Note: If you want to make this craft with a group of kids, you can staple the ice cream printables to up to 10 sheets of copy paper, 5 sheets of cardstock or 5-8 sheets of construction paper.
So, did you know, you can staple together 10 pieces of copy paper and cut out 10 shapes at a time?! That’s my SECRET to fast & easy crafting. Stapling the paper is very important because it makes sure it doesn’t move as you cut. The more staples the better. Cardstock is the thickest so you may only be able to cut 5 sheets at a time.
Tip: While you’re cutting, if you cut off all parts of the pages that have staples, make sure to re-staple the sheets that are left. Whenever you’re cutting multiple sheets at a time, make sure they are always stapled together.
Step 3: How to Assemble this Simple Ice Cream Craft
The kids will just need to glue it all together and make it their own.
- Glue one, two, three or more ice cream scoops onto the cone
- Personalize the cones and scoops with glitter for sprinkles, pom poms for a cherry, draw on a fun treat or more…
- Don’t forget to put your name on the back
And you’re finished
This is a great craft for summertime, and easy enough for preschool, elementary, Scouts or just a fun craft at home idea.
