Fine Motor Skills Practice

Cutting along the curved lines of the pumpkin helps children build hand-eye coordination and scissor control. Gluing, coloring, and decorating also strengthen small hand muscles, all while having fun.

Pumpkin Outline Craft Ideas and Inspiration
Here’s a list of simple ideas for crafts that you can make with this outline:
Marble Painting
This activity might be my favorite. Just print the pumpkin outline and stick it at the bottom of a baking sheet or old Amazon box.
Then dip some marbles or even hot wheels cars into paint, drop them ontop of the outline and let them roll around. They will make such a fun picture. Your children will love making some Pumpkin art.
Scrap Paper Mosaic Pumpkin
You may already have a stash of scrap construction paper. It’s fun to use different colored paper. Or try paper with different types of Halloween designs on it.
Just grab your orange and brown paper and cut it into small shapes with scissors or let the kids rip it as they make the simple autumn craft.
If you plan to cut paper ahead of time for this craft, just cut strips of paper about one inch wide. Stack and line up your strips of paper to cut multiple sheets at a time.
Tip: Making any scrap paper mosaic craft uses more paper scraps than you think!
Next get a glue stick or white glue and start sticking the pieces of paper to your pumpkin shape. It’s fun to make the stem brown and the pumpkin orange.
You can even tape a craft stick or popsicle stick to the back and have a pumpkin puppet. Your younger kids and toddlers will love it this fall season.
Dot Art or Resist Art
Grab some Dot Markers or just some paint and get ready to make a fun pumpkin painting.
Start by cutting out the simple pumpkin template and sticking it to a piece of paper (card-stock works best). masking tape onto the template.
Then, have fun with dot markers filling in the sheet of paper. Make sure to go all the way around the edges of the pumpkin so you will see the outline when you take the template off.
When you’re finished with all of your dots, peel off the template to reveal the pumpkin shape.
Halloween Decorations
Or, just use the outline as a stencil to cut out a bunch of pumpkins from cardstock. They’ll make some fun fall decorations.
You can even print the template with different sizes on your printer.
String them together and make an adorable garland.
