Improving Fine Motor Skills

We all know that crafting is super fun, but it’s also great for improving fine motor skills. As your little ones cut-out shapes, and draw on faces, not only will they get to express their creativity, but their little hands will also get some fine motor practice.

Step 1: Download and Print the Free Tiger Craft Template

Download the Free Tiger Craft Template. You will be stapling the templates to sheets of colored paper and cutting out shapes up to 10 at a time.

Use the Tiger Craft Template to quickly cut out as many shapes as you need.

Step 2: Staple and Cut Out the Tiger Craft Shapes

Once you have the print outs, staple them to up to 10 sheets of copy paper, 5 sheets of cardstock or 6-10 sheets of construction paper.

The muzzle and the nose will need to be separated because they are two different colors.

So, did you know, you can staple together 10 pieces of copy paper and cut out 10 shapes at a time?! That’s my SECRET to fast & easy crafting.

Stapling the paper is very important because it makes sure it doesn’t move as you cut. The more staples the better. Cardstock is the thickest so you may only be able to cut 5 sheets at a time.

Tip: While you’re cutting, if you’ve cut off all parts of the pages that have staples, make sure to re-staple the sheets that are left. Whenever you’re cutting multiple sheets at a time, make sure they are always stapled together.

Step 3: How to Make a Tiger Paper Craft

The kids will have so much fun making their paper tigers. Watch my quick youtube video to see how to assemble the tiger craft:

I recommend having a tiger that is already put together so the children can see what the final version will look like.

  1. start with the orange body
  2. glue the head onto the orange body
  3. glue the white muzzle onto the bottom of the head
  4. glue on the nose
  5. draw on the face
  6. draw triangles and color them in for the stripes
  7. don’t forget to write your name on the back

And you’re finished.

This is a great zoo animal craft or something to make just for fun. And, it’s the perfect Big Cat Craft for Preschoolers, Kindergarteners, Toddlers, Daycare, or just a fun craft at home idea.

It took me about 10 minutes to have the supplies for 20 kids. How amazing is that?! Now you’re ready to take your easy Tiger craft to your event. This would be a great craft for a zoo lesson, preschool, Scouts or just a fun school party idea.
