Step 2: For Small Pumpkin Cut Pages in Half
If you use the smaller pumpkin, make sure to save some time by lining up the printouts and cutting multiple sheets at a time.
I LOVE the look of the large pumpkin, but know that you will need A LOT of scrap paper. And it takes quite a bit of time for children to glue on every piece of paper.
For this craft, I found the larger pumpkin works better, as the small pumpkin needs smaller scrap pieces and takes longer.
Kids each work at their own pace so you will have some that finish quickly and some that are much slower.
Step 3: Cutting Up Scrap Paper
You may already have a stash of scrap construction paper. Just grab your orange and green pieces and cut them up into small shapes.
If you need to cut paper for this craft, just cut strips of orange and green paper about one inch wide. Line up your strips of paper and cut multiple sheets at a time.
Step 4: How to Assemble
The kids will enjoy gluing all of those scraps onto their pumpkin!
Tip: Make sure to bring extra construction paper because this craft uses more than you think! especially if you’re using the large pumpkin.
- grab a piece of scrap paper
- either dip it in white school glue or rub it onto the top of your glue stick
- push the paper piece onto to the pumpkin where you want it
- continue until the pumpkin is full – try to stay in the lines
- Don’t forget to put your name on the back.
And you’re finished!
This is a great craft for Fall and Halloween. And it’s easy enough for preschool, elementary, Scouts or just a fun craft at home idea.
