Improving Fine Motor Skills
We all know that crafting is super fun, but it’s also great for improving cutting skills, pencil grasp, and fine motor skills. As your kiddos make this craft, they will also express their creativity and get some fine motor practice.
Step 1: Download and Print the Free Printable Owl Template
Download and print the Free Printable Owl Template. In the next step, learn how to quickly cut out as many shapes as you need.

Step 2: Staple and Cut Out the Preschool Owl Craft Shapes

Once you have the template printed out, staple it to construction paper and cut out multiple shapes at a time.
So, did you know, you can staple together 10 pieces of copy paper and cut out 10 shapes at a time?! That’s my SECRET to fast & easy crafting.
Note: If you want to make this craft with a group of kids, you can staple the template to up to 10 sheets of copy paper, 5 sheets of cardstock or 6-10 sheets of construction paper.

Stapling the paper is very important because it makes sure it doesn’t move as you cut. The more staples the better. Cardstock is the thickest so you may only be able to cut 5 sheets at a time.

Step 3: How to Assemble
Choose between the two owl bellies (heart or circle). The kids will have so much making their Owl Craft.

I recommend having a finished Owl craft so the children can see what the final version will look like.
- glue the white eye piece onto the top the owl body
- glue on the belly (heart or circle) to body front
- glue on the beak
- glue the wings to the back of the owl body (the pointed part of the wing should be up)
- draw on the owl’s eyes or use googly eyes
- optional: glue on the bow
- Don’t forget to write your name on the back

Do you have any crafts that use toliet rolls
Hi Linda, no toilet roll crafts yet. My crafts focus on templates and construction paper. But maybe I can add some in the future! Have a great day. ~Jeannie
