Step 2: Cut up Construction Paper for the Rainbow Craft
You may already have a stash of scrap construction paper. For the mosaic rainbow craft, you’ll need all of the colors of the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple.
Children can cut the paper into small shapes or let them rip it as they make the craft.
If you plan to cut paper ahead of time for this craft, just cut strips of paper about a half-inch wide. Stack and line up your strips of paper to cut multiple sheets at a time.
Tip: This craft uses more paper scraps than you think!
Step 3: Make Your Construction Paper Rainbow!
I recommend having finished crafts so the children can see what the final version will look like.
- Match the colors to each arc of the rainbow.
- Glue your scrap paper onto the rainbow – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple.
- Optional: Drizzle white school glue onto the clouds at the bottom of the rainbow.
- Optional: Pull apart cotton balls and glue them onto your rainbow to make a soft and fluffy cloud.
- Don’t forget to write your name on the back.

Instructions for the Do A Dot Rainbow:
This activity is very simple. Just print out the do a dot rainbow template (it’s the one with the circles). Then, use your do a dot markers to fill in the circles. Makes sure to use the correct color for each arch.
