Make this Santa’s Beard Countdown Calendar for Toddlers while reading these Fun Books:
This Santa digital download is a fun way for you and your kiddos into the spirit of the season. Waiting is a tricky yet important skill.
You can talk about how St. Nick comes down the chimney on Christmas eve. And how he leaves presents for good girls and boys.
Step 1: Download and Print the Free Template
Download the Santa Beard Countdown PDF. You can choose between a numbered beard or a plain beard. AND between color or a black and white version.

Once you have the Santa Christmas countdowns printed out, either watch the video (below) or look at the next steps to see what fun you can have with them.
Step 2: Optional -Laminate or cover the printout.
If you can laminate the white paper printouts, you can use them over and over. If you don’t have a laminator, consider covering the mats with packing tape. A few strips should do the trick.

You can also tuck the printed pages into a gallon storage bag. Or use a pocket page protector to make this a reusable resource
Watch the Christmas Calendar Video for step-by-step directions and fun ideas on how to make this countdown extra fun.
Step 3: How to Use the Resource
If you’re doing a countdown, it makes sense to start on December 1st. But really you can use this fun printable any day in the Month of December. Here are a bunch of ideas….
Santa Beard Number Recognition

The one that makes the most sense is using the numbers for activities. You can have the children identify numbers that you tell them, have them circle even numbers, put an “x” on any number that contains a “3”, or just have children practice counting.

Another way to use the resource is skip counting. They can skip count by twos, threes, and fives.
Improving Fine Motor Skills
We all know that crafting is super fun, but it’s also great for improving fine motor skills. As your little cut-out shapes, glue, and draw, not only will they get to express their creativity, but they will also get some scissor skills and fine motor practice.

There are soooo many fine motor activities you can do with these freebies.
Using tongs and pom poms can help with building kids’ hand-eye co-ordination. By pinching and placing the pom poms on the Santa face, your children will be improving their hand strength and fine motor skills.

Another great fine motor activity is rolling up playdough and squishing it. My kiddos love playdough.
More fun ideas

This is such a quick way to use the printable. Just have your kiddos dab it with a bingo dauber. This is such an easy activity for your littlest ones to enjoy the Christmas Season.

This one is my favorite. Get some red and green candies and let your children practice pinching. They can put the candy on the beard and eat some too!

Another fun activity is to use the beard to practice the alphabet. You can write the letters on and have your kiddos find them (like with the numbers).
You can also draw letters on with white crayon and then paint over them with water paint. My kids love watching as the letters magically appear.
Santa Crafts
The blank pages is perfect for some simple Santa crafts.

Get some washable paint or rubber stampers and let your kiddos make a keepsake. They can use their fingerprints to color in Santa’s beard.

Grab your cotton balls or white pom poms. You can have the fluffiest Santa craft ever. Just add the cotton balls to the beard, and hat.
Then, you can cut it out and glue it to construction paper. What a sweet craft.
This is the Perfect Christmas Craft. It’s so fun and easy for young kids.
And it’s easy enough for preschool, kindergarten, elementary, kids of all ages or just a fun craft at home idea.
Use these printable ideas for your bulletin board, during your morning arrival routine, as a Christmas classroom party craft, and even as a keepsake. Your kiddos from preK – 4th grade will love it.
