This paper Santa is a fun way for you and your kiddos into the spirit of the season. You can talk about how St. Nick comes down the chimney on Christmas eve. And how he leaves presents for good girls and boys.

Improving Fine Motor Skills

We all know that crafting is super fun, but it’s also great for improving fine motor skills. As your little cut-out shapes, glue, and draw, not only will they get to express their creativity, but they will also get some scissor skills and fine motor practice.

Step 2: Staple and Cut Out the Craft Shapes

Once you have the Santa templates printed out, staple them to construction paper and cut out multiple shapes at a time.

Note: If you want to make this craft with a group of kids, you can staple the template to up to 10 sheets of copy paper, 5 sheets of cardstock or 5-8 sheets of construction paper.

So, did you know, you can staple together 10 pieces of copy paper and cut out 10 shapes at a time?! That’s my SECRET to fast & easy crafting.

Stapling the paper is very important because it makes sure it doesn’t move as you cut. The more staples the better. Cardstock is the thickest so you may only be able to cut 5 sheets at a time.

Watch the Santa Craft Video Tutorial for step-by-step instructions on how to make this easy craft for kids.

Step 3: How to Assemble

The kids will just need to glue everything together.

I recommend having a Santa that is already put together so the children can see what the final version will look like.

  1. Glue the red hat onto the top of the oval face (Santa’s head).
  2. Glue the white hat trim onto the bottom of Santa’s hat.
  3. Glue on Santa’s iconic white beard. Make sure the corners of the bear touch the hat.
  4. Glue the white mustache onto the top of the beard. (most of the mustache should be over the beard to leave room for the eyes)
  5. Glue on the red nose.
  6. Glue the white circle onto the top of Santa’s hat.
  7. draw on Santa’s eyes
  8. don’t forget to put your name on the back

    1. Hi Amy,
I just sent you an email with a direct link to the template. The way the website works is that it sends every activity via email. But because they’re sent automatically, sometimes the emails get blocked altogether or sent to SPAM or PROMOTIONS folders. Hopefully, after you download a few crafts, the emails will start coming to your inbox. Don’t ever hesitate to contact me at [email protected] if the template emails don’t come through.
