Use the ornament template to quickly cut out as many shapes as you need.

Step 2: Staple and Cut Out the Ornament Shapes

print Christmas ornament PDF and staple to multiple sheets of paper before cutting

Once you have the easy paper ornament print outs, staple them to construction paper and cut out multiple shapes at a time. You’ll be cutting out strips of paper and circles.

Note: If you want to make this craft with a group of kids, you can staple the template to up to 10 sheets of copy paper, 5 sheets of cardstock or 5-8 sheets of construction paper.

So, did you know, you can staple together 10 pieces of copy paper and cut out 10 shapes at a time?! That’s my SECRET to fast & easy crafting.

Stapling the paper is very important because it makes sure it doesn’t move as you cut. The more staples the better. Cardstock is the thickest so you may only be able to cut 5 sheets at a time.

Extra Tip For Cutting Circles:

You can also use craft hole punchers to make your circles and I HIGHLY recommend them. You will need a large circle and a smaller one.

They’re available at any craft store or possibly big name stores that sell craft items. Again, make sure you’re punching holes in more than one sheet at a time.

Step 3: How to Assemble this DIY Paper Christmas Ornament

The kids will love using their imagination to create some awesome ornaments.

Paper Christmas Ornament for kids
  1. choose your base ornament
  2. glue on the decorations (paper strips, circles, and shapes)
  3. optional: add glitter, decorate with markers, add stickers
  4. punch hole in the top of the ornament
  5. loop a ribbon through the hole, and tie a bow knot with ribbon or twine
  6. don’t forget to put your name on the back

And you’re finished

These are such colorful ornaments and the perfect Christmas craft for kids.

Make enough paper Christmas ornaments to fill an entire tree. Or turn them Christmas decor like a garland. They’re easy enough for preschool, elementary, daycare or just a fun craft at home idea.
